Are You Making These Twitter Marketing Mistakes?
So many marketers have no trouble getting hordes of Twitter followers, but they can’t get them to their sites. No doubt you’ve given this some serious consideration. You’re also probably aware that Twitter is an excellent vehicle for building great relationships with other business owners. We’ll offer some discussion about mistakes that cause these kinds of marketing issues, and perhaps you’ll see where you’re going wrong.
Always avoid the temptation to become too personally involved with any of your followers. It’s not important to tell them every minute detail about your life. People read only those tweets that interest them. You’ll become ignored pretty quickly if people start thinking of you in terms of something they don’t want to read. If you always give them something that will potentially help them, then they’ll come to instantly recognize you and want to see what you have to say. Naturally, what you want to do is train them to be interested in anything you have to say. So if you do this for a while, then you’ll see people respond to you, maybe ask you questions, and then traffic will begin appearing on your site. And be very sure you never deceive anyone with fake or false information in your Twitter profile. Another point, you may create a dull or uninteresting impression if you just use a logo or something like that on your profile. Some people don’t like profiles without a real pic, too. If you really wanted, you could choose to use a pen name.
Don’t make the mistake of getting shy when it comes to asking your followers. There’s nothing wrong with being tactfully upfront and open with them. Keep in mind that you’re there to do business – do it the right way, of course, but still there to do business. If you have given value to your list for a long time, you sure do have the right to send them a relevant offer that can help them. You have to be really smart when it comes to adding any promotional tweets to your regular stream of tweets. It’s fine to include an offer in your tweets if you have held-up your end of the relationship deal.
Acceptable and proper language when you’re at Twitter is the order of the day. People have ruined their chances at Twitter, at least with the group of followers they had, through the use of bad or improper language. Never use vulgar expressions when tweeting, but of course you can be informal in posts. Overall – not a good thing to do because it offends too many people. Instead, be friendly in your approach and talk decent. It’s really easy, just project a positive and healthy image and create a positive impression. Creating a great impresson on your followers will encourage them have more trust in you.
If there’s one piece of advice we’d give you it’s to take your time and proceed slowly. Rushing into things there will only make it more likely to make mistakes. Persevering and being patient will take you very far, indeed.
Just follow our advice above, and you should be able to utilize Twitter effectively. Recently I created a Play Blues Guitar twitter accounts, and I’ve been able to drive a lot of traffic to my site from it. For more information, please read on Play Blues Guitar.
